About this project
This Novi project is a new exposed-aggregate patio with a set of steps and a covered porch landing. Exposed aggregate is finished by washing away the top layer of cement paste to reveal the natural stone in the mix, which gives it that textured, pebbled surface you see here.
It's a popular choice for Novi patios and pool decks for good reason: the texture provides excellent slip resistance underfoot, the natural stone look hides everyday dirt and wear, and — poured on a properly prepared base — it stands up well to Michigan's freeze-thaw winters.
